BlueZone transforms a student's career goals into a personalized and trackable action plan to help them land their ideal job

Set Goals & Objectives

Set Your Job Search Goals

The process of setting goals and creating plans causes students to take ownership of their job search process. It drives big-picture creative thinking to dream big - Don't just get any job, get your "perfect" job! And review your plan regularly so you can adjust course if necessary.

Break Your Goal Into Objectives

Students, working with advisors, can think about how they will reach their goal. What are the categories of things they need to do in each year of their student life? In BlueZone, these become objectives.

Define Other Personal Objectives

Not all objectives are specifically related to their job search. With BlueZone you can also define character and experience building objectives such as health and wellness, or travel and experience.

Build An Action Plan

Choose the Activities That Map to Each Objective

The job search approach can be different from student to student. Each student has a personal activity plan and can set the activities they are committing to execute that match their personality and behavior.

Apply Conversion Rates for Job Search Activities

There are different conversion rates for different activities. For example, It may require more "cold" resume submissions to generate a job opportunity than a referral, job fair contact, or internship.

Start & Track the Process

Review the BlueZone Dashboard

BlueZone provides a daily dashboard of the activities and corresponding goals required to complete the day.

See Meaningful Progress Everyday Towards Reaching Your Goal

BlueZone translates activities (using each activity conversion rate) into points. BlueZone then calculates an overall point target (BlueZone Score).  Students experience wins every day to longer term job search goals.

Know Where to Improve

It is important that students review progress regularly toward their plan.  The sooner they can identify under performance the sooner they can adjust.  Review peer leaderboards, know what top performers are doing, and emulate their behavior.

Be Inspired & Motivated

Planning Creates Confidence

Goals without a plan are just dreams. Seeing a clear path to landing their dream job inspires new levels of performance.

Friendly Competition Inspires Action

We all can't be our only source of motivation. Being able to see the activities and results of peers provides extra drive to do more.

Mind your Motivation

As students move towards achieving their goals, it's always a good idea to remember their underlying motivation. Remembering their "why" will provide the motivation to keep going.
